gray light
soft
but cool
as fine snow
diffuses too
as tiny flakes would,
or faint waves
on clear water
bathing all
beneath slate filter
striking life from
the living
like striking red from
the lighting.
gray washes over
and out
on black
and white,
and i float on
between
all
extremes
doing something
not hot nor cold.
chasing on after
what they might call
cool.
